CONTEXTUAL FIT
Addition to an Existing Order:
"requires first that the ordering system of the prior or prototypical model be perceived and understood so that, through a series of finite changes and permutations, the original design concept can be clarified, strengthened, and built upon, rather than destroyed."

NARRATIVE
The Cruz family purchased the property because they love the location, however not the existing residence as much. They feel it takes away from the natural environment and want to incorporate the surrounding elements into the addition. They would like to create a complementary juxtaposition.
Mr. Cruz is an environmental activist and requires platinum LEED certification on the completed work. Mrs. Cruz is heiress to a multi-billion-dollar oil fortune and is interested only in spatial aesthetics.
While their beliefs are not completely aligned, they share a love for waterfront properties and summer time outdoor living.
