This project highlights the confound connection between light and structure. Designed as a non-denominational chapel, it prioritizes light control for spiritual ambiance. Through features like reflectors and curved walls, the chapel effectively manages incoming light from multiple angles, enriching the worship experience for individuals of all faiths.

BACKGROUND

This architectural masterpiece, the Riola Parrish Church, designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, stands as a testament to modernist design in a quaint Italian landscape. Completed in 1978, the church's concrete form harmonizes effortlessly with the surrounding terrain near Bologna, Italy. Aalto's design gracefully embodies the spiritual essence of the mountainous setting, seamlessly blending faith and place in both its interior and exterior, creating a sanctuary of profound serenity.
